Crimson Pink Silk Embroidered Antique Ottoman Wall Hanging: C19th Asia
Dating from the mid 19th century, a lovely soft crimson pink silk satin wall hanging with off white silk stumpwork embroidery.
Expertly hand embroidered, this hanging has echoes of Persian prayer rugs and has a pretty decorative floral border, and in the centre top, a hanging basket filled with a profusion of flowers which are spilling out down the sides and is finished with decorative tassels.
This basket of flowers is echoed again at eh bottom centre of the panel.
This textile is in very good antique condition, it has been lined by our dedicated conservation studio in an antique cotton sateen. There are a few light rubs to the silk satin surface and a couple of historic mends. Nothing detrimental to the textile as a whole and all as you would expect in an antique textile.
