A museum quality Ottoman embroidered kerchief or shawl.
Hand embroidered onto a fine hand loomed muslin, with a decorative border running along all four sides; it could be used on the head or shoulders or tied around the hips.
The border has a decoration which includes poplar trees, floral motifs interspersed with bee hives (?) or windmills(?)
Embroidered with silk in double running stitch variations, musabak stitch and square eyelets with metal thread in double running stitch.
There are some light stains and a couple of nice historic darns.
