A lovely gold gilt embroidered wall hanging/ pelmet from Sumatra Indonesia and dating from the first half of the 1900s.
Skillfully handworked in couched gold wrapped thread in traditional motifs of birds and exotic floral motifs decorative borders.
The ground textile is a scarlet red plush which imitates velvet and the pelmet is backed in a fine washed out red cotton.
There’s would look great above a window or door, or just hanging on a wall.
