Vintage Traditional Fine Tie Dye Silk Kimono: C1950 Japan

Dating from the 1950s, hand dyed and handmade a fine silk kimono.

This kimono has been dyed with the most extraordinary technique which includes stitching and tying am unsure how it has been done but its amazing! No doubt someone out there will helpfully tell us……

Made in pretty pale sage green with a band of blue and white the silk is extremly fine which suggests to us that this is a summer kimono.

The front opening is lined with a black silk twill which was designed to make it strong and to be replaceable when it got dirty or worn.

Length: 137cm
Across width: 60cm

Condition:
In good condition for antique items of clothing from the. Some tiny historic mends, a few small holes. Nothing detrimental to this kimono as a whole.
