An exceptional example of an antique Arts and Crafts Movement embroidered panel, closely showcasing the stylistic hallmarks of the Glasgow School of Art (c. 1890–1910).

The piece strongly echoes the pioneering needlework designs of Jessie Newbery and the "Glasgow Girls" circle.

The "Glasgow Rose".The circular, web-like geometric flower heads featuring distinct radiating lines and central yellow accents are a signature motif of the Scottish Arts and Crafts style.

The stylized, flowing leaf-and-vine border stitched in muted pinks and greens frames the central arrangement, showing the movement's lean toward structured, organic symmetry.

It utilizes a characteristically restrained, earthy palette of sage green, dusty rose, and straw yellow silk or crewel wool threads, all meticulously hand-stitched onto a natural cream linen ground.

The top and bottom edges are trimmed with delicate lace accenting, typical of functional household art such as a portière, table cover, or decorative panel.

Measurements:
90 x 95cm

Condition:
In good antique condition with some rubs and losses to areas of the embroidery commensurate with age.
