Antique Arts & Crafts William Morris Block Print Velvet Archival Collectable Panel: C19th Britain

Item Details.
A very special and rare panel of original hand printed cotton velvet dating from the 19th century, designed by William Morris.

This panel looks as if it was part of the furnishing from a chair. It is a shaped piece but there’s enough here as a good example of Arts & Crafts design by this prolific designer.

A great archival piece for a designer or collector.

This design is Acanthus, designed by Morris in 1876, in a red/pink colourway on a cotton velveteen which was hand block printed by Morris & Co.

Measurements.
83 x 51cm

Condition: Very Good.
In excellent condition, clean and colours still bright and clear. There is a small area of loss of velveteen pile. Please see photos for details.
