Historically, these fabric details were used in European homes—particularly in France—as matching bed pelmets (bandes de lit) or mantel decorations to add softness and color to stone or wood architectures.

This features a classic French Indienne pattern. It typically showcases detailed monochromatic pastoral scenes (depicting figures in countryside landscapes, trees, and large floral elements) printed on a cream or off-white background.
