Antique Collectable Traditional Gilt Thread Embroidered Silk Jacket : C1920 China
A stunning gilt thread embroidered silk jacket dating from around 1920.
The gilt wrapped threads have been individually couched or stitched in place with fine pink and green coloured silk threads which lends colour to an otherwise totally silver and gold thread embroidery.
The embroidery has all been worked by hand and is incredibly fine. The patterns are traditional, of hills with flowering branches.
The jacket has a mandarin collar and fastens with pink silk frogging loops and knotted fastenings.
This is a highly decorative piece and could be young on a wall out worn (with great care) for a special occasion.
