Item Details.
An extraordinary hand embroidered silk bedcover dating from the 1920’s, embroidered in Kashmir in India where the world’s most skilled embroiderers come from.

This was probably made for the European market, either for export or for Europeans living in India.

It is worked in gorgeous subdued coloured silks on a cream silk ground. This beautiful cover would fit a double bed but would also make a fabulous curtain, wall hanging or throw.

Condition.
This panel is in excellent condition for an antique from this era. There is some slight colour run but nothing especially noticeable or that detracts from the overall beauty of this amazing textile, it has an overall patina of age as you would expect in a textile of this age.
