Antique Green Silk Brocade Bodice: C19th in 18th century style

Item Details.

Dating from the first half of the 18th century a wonderful pea green and pink brocaded silk bodice or corset with sleeves. The cuffs are lined in a fuscia pink silk.

This bodice has been reconstructed during its long life and has lace cuffs and front which are later additions. It has an inner front which fastens with hooks and eyes down the centre front.

Lined throughout in a pretty figured cotton and has original boning covered with silk pockets for structure and to create the desired silhouette of the day.

This is a collectors item, it is not for wearing and needs to be carefully cared for and stored. We can advise on conservation and storage, please ask us for details.

Condition:
As previously mentioned, the bodice has been remade and has machine stitched seams. There is staining under the arms and the front edges haven’t been finished. All of these factors have been reflected in the price.
