Produced by Kashleen Fabrics, a workshop based in Kashmir, India, this fine wool and silk embroidery is a copy of a 16th century Safavid Persian garden embroidery.
They have a 16th century textile with a very similar design in the V&A, London, from which we believe this has been copied, please see photos.
This panel has been embroidered in tambour work chain stitch using fine wools and silks. It has depictions of young men standing in a flower strewn garden among pointed cypress trees, while fish swim in small pools of swirling water.

Condition:
The panel has an overall patina of age, but is otherwise in very good antique condition.
