Antique Hand Painted Bedcover or Wallhanging with Reclining Woman, Putti and Roses: C1930 Italy

This antique Damasco San Leucio damask with hand painted putti and peacocks bedspread dates from the 1930s.

It is made of a pastel light baby blue rococo pattern silk rayon damask fabric, with a colorful pastel hand painted and stencilled design.

There is an Italian inspired ethereal scene of putti cupid angels, a pretty women reclining, peacock, birds, butterflies, roses and flowers.

This beautiful boudoir bed cover bedspread has blue chenille fringe tassel trim edging,
"Damasco S. Leucio" woven along the sides and has no backing or lining.

It would suit most interior settings and could be used as a bedcover, wall hanging,
curtain or for repurposing into pillows, lampshades or similar.

Condition:
In excellent vintage condition with some dark marks which it may be possible for a professional cleaner to remove, nothing detrimental to the textile as a whole.
