Antique Meji Period Woodblock Print with Figures in Traditional Costume: C19th Japan

Dating from the late Meji (1868 - 1910) period this wonderfully detailed handmade woodblock print. With fine detailing and embossed patterned areas to give texture and add interest.
Depicting two male figures of importance surrounded by serving woman offering food and adding interest to the scene.
They seem to be on a terrace or balcony overlooking the sea with mountains in the background, the top of the print has patterned blinds decoratively finished with tassels and a draped pelmet printed with wild horses.
This is a really interesting print for anyone interested in traditional costume from this period, both from the ruling and serving classes.

Condition:
Perfectly timeworn with an overall patina of age, folds, rubs and all the other things which give this its unique character.
