An amazing find! We have two panels of this exquisite museum worthy gold stumpwork embroiderey with sequins hand worked in the early 1800s on a powder blue silk satin.
We imagine this was only worn once and has been taken apart and stored carefully away which explains the extraordinary condition.
The panels of embroidery would benefit from being stretched and mounted, and would make an utterly beautiful pair of wall hangings.
