This textile is an Ottoman antique silver bullion wire embroidery panel, dating back to the 19th century.

It features intricate metallic thread work (often referred to as silver bullion or purl wire) hand-embroidered onto a fine silk satin backing. The deep, darkened color of the embroidery is a natural result of the silver oxidizing over time.

The heavy, textured relief pattern uses historical techniques closely related to stumpwork or raised metallic embroidery, giving the floral and heart-shaped motifs a three-dimensional quality.

While pieces of this exact scale and motif arrangement are highly collectible, they traditionally trace back to two primary historical sources:Ottoman / Turkish (Dival Work).

Master embroidery styles from this region frequently featured heavy metallic threading on silk, using stylized floral bouquets or traditional vases.
