A museum worthy traditional woman’s tunic panel from India, hand embroidered by the Parsi community and dating from the 19th century.
Hand embroidered onto fine midnight black silk with a floral embroidered border running around the hem and sleeve openings, and a decorative pattern with birds and flower motifs - it is a highly decorative and attractive piece.
This form of embroidery is traditional of the Parsi community. The woman’s tunic has been made into a panel which would benefit by being stretched and mounted, a service we can offer you from our dedicated textile conservation studio. Please contact us for details.

Condition. In excellent antique condition.
Overall condition is really good considering the age of this item. Some historic and extensive conservation which is incerdibly fine and a work of art in its own right!
