From Hungary this beautiful and rare traditional antique handmade embroiderd linen bedcover dating from the 19th century

The bedcover has hand crocheted lace panels inset into a natural hand loomed linen ground.

In all my years of textile dealing and study I’ve never had a bedcover like this one.

This bedcover would also work very well as a curtain or wallhanging and would suit most interior settings.

Measurements.
152cm W x 225cm L

Condition.
The bed cover is in good condition for an antique textile from this era. There are few marks on the linen ground and sone historic mends - nothing very noticeable or that detracts from the loveliness of this piece. The bedcover would benefit by being lined, a service we are happy to offer from out textile conservation studio.

All of our textiles are antique and may have some of the idiosyncrasies of aged and loved pieces of cloth so small marks, stains and signs of wear are to be expected and are an inherent part of their charm.
