Another wonderful hand blocked Mezzaro print from Genoa, Italy C19th, for the European market in the style of Palampores from India.
This Mezzaro is in lovely crisp colours including pinks and aubergines, a beautiful combination which suits most interior settings.
These versatile hangings work well as they were traditionally intended, as bed-hangings, or as door curtains (portiers) as wall hangings or they could be lined and hung as curtains.
In excellent antique condition with some minor historic repairs.
