Item Details.
A wonderful panel of crimson/magenta/deep pinky red silk brocade. This is a furnishing weight silk and is of a very high quality, possibly made to furnish the walls of a spectacular room.
The silk dates from the first half of the 19th century and was made in the UK, it has an original shop label which reads ‘Muntzer & Son, 25 Regent Street, Piccadilly’ (London) which suggests it was never used, but there are stitching marks and the remains of some silk stitching which suggests otherwise.
It’s is in excellent condition with a couple of small marks, nothing detrimental to the piece as a whole, and to be expected in an antique textile of this antiquity.
