Drawn Thread-work and Embroidered Linen Border with Fringe: C1900 Bulgaria

Item Details.
An absolutely beautiful embroidered linen panel or runner with complicated and intricate pulled or drawn thread work.

Probably Bulgarian and dating from the late 19th or early 20th century this is a mind boggling example of expertly executed drawn thread work.

The panel has a hemmed edge along the top and is finished with a handmade fringe along the bottom.

A useful addition to a collection or could be stitched onto a plain linen panel to make a wallhanging or decorative curtain. Alternatively the panel could be repurposed into some beautiful cushions or pillows.

In good antique condition with an overall patina of age as you would expect of a domestic textile of this age that’s been used and passed down through the generations.
