Edwardian Whitework Irish Crotchet Lace Bodice Flowers and Insects circa1900
A museum quality whitework Irish crotchet lace bodice dating from around 1900.
With an extraordinary abundance of three dimensional stumpwork crotchet motifs including butterflies, dragonflies, lilies with stamen, morning glories and more....the longer you examine this bodice the more you discover.
Fully lined in a very fine cream silk, we believe this may well have been part of a brides wedding trousseau.
In excellent antique condition with one faint dark mark which it may be possible to remove by a specialist.
Measurements: taken with bodice lying flat.
Across front : 44cm
Across waist: 41cm
