Item Details.
An extraordinary antique heraldic embroidered panel, with a lion and a unicorn darling from 19th century India. Possibly once part of wedding garland. Please see our listings for other examples.

Hand worked in gilt bullion thread over a gold painted cloth with areas of stumpwork and with areas of sequins which add decorative elements.

This embroidery would benefit from being stretched and mounted, a service we are happy to offer from our dedicated textile conservation studio. please ask us for details.

Measurements.

Condition.
In great, usable condition. Some discolouration to areas of the gilt bullion.These pieces have all the idiosyncrasies of an aged and loved pieces and so small marks, stains and signs of wear are to be expected and are an inherent part of their charm.
