Hand Painted Papier-mâché Buttons and Buckle on Original Card: 1920 Kashmir, India
From Kashmir, Northern India, a set of hand painted buttons with a buckle dating from the 1920s and made for export to the European market.
Still on their original card which is quiet wonderful “ KASHMIR CURIOSITIES we take the liberty to encroach upon your valuable time by informing yourselves that we undertake to supply at moderate rates all sorts of goods manufactured and produced in Kashmir.....”etc
Skilfully and delicately hand painted onto a cream ground in mauves with touches of magenta and orange.
In good antique condition with some creases to corners of card.
