Panel Fine Striped Chinoiserie Floral Silk Brocade: C18th English(?)
Dating from the 18th century a length of finely striped pale blue and coral brocade overlaid with floral motifs.
The panel has been backed in a cerise silk and edges with a metal thread woven brocade so that it can be hung as a wall hanging or laid on a piece of furniture.
The silk was probably from a dress but may have been intended for furniture as it’s a good weight.
In good antique condition with an overall patina of age with darker areas, which a specialist textile conservator could probably Improve upon.
