This fabulous window , door pelmet or curtain showcases Richelieu cutwork embroidery (or traditional Italian punto tagliato), a technique where sections of the hand loomed linen fabric are precisely cut away and reinforced with buttonhole stitches and bars (bars or brides) to create stunning openwork windows.
The focal panels feature prominent embroidered floral medallions, flanked by geometric borders that follow the curved, arching frame of the drape.
The lower border is detailed with a knotted macramé mesh that holds rows of graduate, spiral -carved wooden pendulum beads, adding significant texture, weight, and visual drape. This particular configuration—blending delicate natural unbleached linen with earthy wooden hardware—perfectly complements Edwardian, Arts and Crafts aesthetics.
