Pair of Embroidered Silk Mirrored and Tasseled Temple Hangings: C19th China

Dating from the late 19th, a pair of decorative and interesting gilt and silk embroidered hangings from China.

Hand worked onto a silk satin ground and covered with embroidered birds and floral motifs. Couch work mirrored and tasselled with metal beads, floral cotton backs. So decorative.

Probably originally made as part of a temple wall hanging these panels would look fabulous hanging on a wall and would suit a variety of interior settings.
