Silk Embroidered Kimono Jacket Robe : C1920 Europe
Made in the 1920s and we think from Europe, this jacket has been designed and made in the style of a traditional Japanese kimono.
The black silk crepe has a deep border of decorative machine embroidered flowers, honeysuckle? (which looks remarkably like hand embroidery) and which decorates the body of the robe.
Beautifully designed and made for the fashionable woman about town in the Art Deco period, it has a pretty coral coloured lining and fastens below the hip on one side with two ties.
The hem is slightly padded which echoes that of traditional wedding kimonos.
