Item Details.
In its original box, a traditional embroidered folk costume bonnet or cap worn by the woman of Munich, Bavarian region from 1755 - 1860, known as Riegelhaube bonnets.
Silver bonnets such as this one, were worn by unmarried girls and gold was worn by married woman.
The bonnet is lined in a pretty block print pink and white cotton.
Highly intricate and decorative these headpieces would have taken 200/300 hours to make, each one is unique.
In good antique condition with an overall patina of age and some loose threads and losses to the surface embroidery and sequins.
Measurements: 18.5cm X 6cm deep
