Dating form the first half of the 20th century and hand made in Java, Indonesia, a traditional skirt cloth which would have been worn as a sarong.
This batik skirt cloth is worked in muted tones of the earth using natural dyes with a lovely madder red border.
The panel has a traditional all over diagonal design which runs the length of the piece, interspersed with finely hand drawn floral motifs.
These batiks look lovely when hung in an interior and would suit most styles of room decor.
This textile very good condition for a textile of this antiquity.
