Antique Traditional Folk Art Embroidered Linen Curtain or Runner: C 19th Slovakia
Item Details.
A short curtain panel or runner with complicated and intricate pulled or drawn thread work.
Probably Slovakian and dating from the late 19th or early 20th century this is a mind boggling example of expertly executed drawn thread work.
The panel has a selvedge edge along the top and is finished with a handmade fringe which is stitched to the side and along the bottom edges.
A useful addition to a collection or could be stitched onto a plain linen panel to make a wallhanging or decorative panel. Alternatively the panel could be reprirposed into some beautiful cushions or pillows.

Condition.
In good antique condition with an overall patina of age and some tiny holes as you would expect of a domestic textile of this age that’s been used and passed down through the generations.
