Still life Painting with Vase of Flowers: C1950 British
Item Details:
This little oil painting has a wonderful rich colour palette. The minute I saw it it reminded me of the work of the Bloomsbury group at Charleston House.
Dating from the first mid 20th century and painted in a rich warm colour palette onto stretched canvas, the colours and the feel of this painting is lovely. Signed: J McMullen 1950.
Depicting a handpicked bunch of garden flowers in a round blue and white vase….you can just discern a windmill suggested on vase’s side. The flowers are in sharper focus and are painted in soft mauves, pinks and violists with touches of yellow.
Its tempting to keep such a beauty. there’s just something especially lovely about this one.
Presented in its original gold gilt frame, this painting would suit a miriad of interior settings. It would also make a lovely gift for some one special…..even for yourself!
