A unique suzani with gorgeous colouring dating from the first quarter of the 20th century, from Bukhara, Uzbekistan.
These wonderful collectable textiles from Central Asia were traditionally made as dowry hangings and were made as part of a brides trousseau. They were used as decorative tent (yurt) hangings and covers.
Beautifully hand worked in one of my favourite colour ways, magenta and pinks onto a yellow cotton ground in naturally dyed silks, the fresh, vibrant and happy colouring of this textile would suit most interior styles.

Condition.
The suzani is in good condition for an antique textile, with a couple of light stains and a few small historic mends, all as you would expect in a traditional tribal textile from this era.
