Vintage Chintz Printed Textile Yardage Inspired by Indian Archive V&A: C21st British
Item Details.
A vintage chintz from a collaboration between the V&A and Fired Earth. Inspired by the Indian Archive at the museum this textile derived from 18th century hand painted chintz or palampore which were popular at this time.
The print has figures in wonderful costume of the period with some chinoiserie influenced dress. There are figures on horseback, a hunting scene and courting couples all surrounded by decorative floral swags.
Printed on a furnishing weight cotton in a gorgeous colour palette, the panel is a lovely and there’s enough fabric here for a good sized project.
Designed in a traditional colourway of indigo blues with madder reds onto a white ground, this would suit most interior settings both contemporary and period.
