Vintage Traditional Tribal Embroidered African Tunic
A traditional African handwoven indigo striped cotton tunic With cream silk tambour embroidery. Difficult to date we believe this to be second half 20th century.
Woven on a narrow strip loom this tunic is designed for the heat. With loose wide open armholes and a gently gored A-line shape it is cool and airy.
The cotton is incredibly soft which makes it extraordinarily comfortable to wear. A narrow indigo stripe runs throughout the weave and it has traditional tambour work embroidery running around the neck opening.
The condition of this too is very good. An overall patina of age.
